circa 1864, with octagonal 8in. barrel signed 'PATENTED SEPT 14 1858, REMINGTON & SON ILION NEW-YORK USA, NEW MODEL', pinched pillar fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, plain cylinder with rear safety notches, solid iron frame (cleaned of finish), smooth walnut grips, the left stamped with traces of a martial cartouche and brass trigger-guard, all major parts with inspector's initials and retaining traces of original finish (action sticky)
